for Student-Athletes

Lets talk about one small issue that can make or break your journey’s goals – communication. This is a real sticking point not to be taken lightly, so we want to offer you the best guidance possible. If you don’t communicate well, you may get caught in this “catch 22” and miss out on valuable opportunities. So please pay close attention to this information.

Being able to communicate well is where many people struggle and/or fail to be successful. Your ability to articulate yourself is now required. The time is now to get your thoughts together and be ready to talk.

Most high school students have never had to call anyone (out of the blue) – and yet here we are asking you to do just that. Send email and make phone calls of epic life altering importance. It almost doesn’t seem fair …. and it probably isn’t … but that’s the beauty of it and exactly why it works. You are you, and it is your Authenticity that makes it work.

Sending email or making phone calls likely won’t come natural or be an easy thing to do – we understand. It doesn’t to many adults either so welcome to the world of hard-knocks. Unfortunately, there’s no way around this and it has to be done – and done with a relentless persistence and focus.

So take a deep breath and relax. You will do just fine – and even have some unexpected success. Keep in mind, college coaches admire students who contact them directly, and yes, it can lead to scholarship offers. Rest assured, being able to communicate directly is no different than learning to ride a bike. Once you get the hang of it the task will become easier and less stressful – even enjoyable.

Lets wrap this up… & get it going.

In this situation, your communication needs to be planned and given thought – before it takes place. You can’t just pickup the phone and wing it – that would be risky and potentially disastrous. People don’t plan to fail….they fail to plan. So plan and prepare your communication – same as you do with your academics and athletics. After all, you are a student-athlete and we believe in you because of how far you have already come.

Assignment: Win people over with your ability to directly communicate.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

w

How does it work?

We often work closely with your coaches to know what games to cover. During the game you may not even notice that we are present, as we work very quietly behind the scenes and even from a very far distance at times.

Rest assure, that our cameras are getting the details play-by-play with an intense focus on capturing the best possible video coverage. We do like to arrive early and capture pre-game and sometimes even post-game activity. You are welcome to visit with us at anytime - before, during, or after the game.

w

Do we provide video editing support?

Your Subtitle Goes Here
3

Yes. You can share with us your video clips, and we will work with you to create the most effective video highlights possible.

Game videos are normally provided with in a day or two after they are acquired. For individual players, game video highlights can be provided after they are taken, or all at once after a number of games have been covered.

w

Your game video highlights are provided to you via an individual e-Portfolio. You are able to customize, edit and share your e-portfolio at anytime. Also, you are able to post your game videos on other platforms (you may have) per our list of approved providers.

We provide you with free training and digital media support - as part of our normal business hours of operation M-F 8AM - 5PM.

w

Are scrimmage & practice games eligible?

Your Subtitle Goes Here
3

Yes. We can cover scrimmages and practice games as well. Just like we do normal regular season and playoff games. Sometimes, a scrimmage may be a great opportunity to showcase game highlights when it entails a quality opponent. You are welcome to have us cover this type of game for you at anytime.

w

Do colleges value skills videos?

Your Subtitle Goes Here
3

Yes. Getting game film may be difficult, and an alternative that we've found student athletes having success with are skills workout videos. By demonstrating your skills and abilities in a complete workout give college coaches a good basis to evaluate you.

w

How much game video should I have?

Your Subtitle Goes Here
3

Having game video highlights is an all-important asset to have. Highlight clips provide an easy, quick assessment of you as an athlete. They are even critical for sports that do not offer individual skills videos. We recommend keeping these short - around 3 minutes is an ideal length.

For some sports, a college coach may focus exclusively on game videos that offer - quality of play, clearly showcase specific talents, and are true to the full view of the game - not just the player.

w

How do I get started?

Your Subtitle Goes Here
3

To get started, click the Student-Athlete Sign-up button and submit the form. We’ll then email you a confirmation and look to coordinate the details.

w

What does a game video include?

Your Subtitle Goes Here
3

Our game videos cover an entire game from start-to-finish, in a condensed format so that it can be watched and reviewed in the shortest time possible. We do not insert unecessary graphics, ads, or special effects - keeping the video simple.

For players, we take their highlights from each game and insert them into their digital media portfolio. Big plays are great, though also making fundamentally sound plays are valueable as well - which is why we work closely with each player on thier video details and production.

w

Do we offer recruiting services?

Your Subtitle Goes Here
3

We do not serve as a recruiter and do not get in between you and the colleges you get in contact with. Instead, we offer a support system that helps provide you with guidance and awareness.  We work as a team behind the scenes, and our role is to help provide you with the best possible tools and services for your digital media portfolio.

There are cases where a recruiter is very helpful, and it is good to explore every option to see if one is right for you. Recruiters do vary and we recommend the type of recruiter who also has playing, coaching, and training experience.
